I would never be able to play a game like Doom or Quake anymore because it's just so old and the graphics are just so. When such a player suddenly tries a game like Divinity, they'll say it looks like ♥♥♥♥. Kids and early teenagers nowadays play games like CoD, GTA 5 and other AAA market successes. When you've played a game like Battlefield 1 and other beautifully graphical prototypes like Crysis 3, or even games like GTA 5 your Expectancy(this is the key word) on how graphically enhanced a game is.Įver heard someone say how Morrowind was super good looking? And then when they go back to play it now, they're like "this actually looks like crap nowadays". I suppose to someone who is just turning 20, it would be disgustingly primative. To me, Pillars of Eternity is one of the most gorgeous games I've ever played. For me, it's all about the aesthetics, how it actually looks. I can't understand why someone would NEED photorealistic blood spraying on ``their" ``face". I did play a few DOS games.okay I did play a lot of DOS games and the first computer game I played was on an Apple Writer II (It was a huge advancement over the AW1 since it could display both upper and lower case letters).Įdit: Though, I don't understand the significance of that? Is it that I care about aesthetics, but not graphics? If so, then you are right. Golden age of graphics? If you mean to imply that I grew up on Gold Box games, that's not quite it. That's because you are probably an older gamer that hasn't been through the golden age of graphics in their teenage years. Originally posted by Krovoc:*shrug* To each their own I suppose.
